Horticultural Retreat for Seniors — Good Soil, Good Company, Good Rest
There’s something deeply healing about gardens. The pace, the patience they ask for, the tangible reward of something growing under your hands. Our Horticultural Retreat for Senior Citizens is built around exactly that — a slow, enriching, two-day stay designed for older adults who want to reconnect with nature, community, and the simple pleasures of rural life.
Running on two separate weekends — 2nd–3rd May and 23rd–24th May — this retreat offers a comfortable, community-driven environment with a programme that’s thoughtfully paced and genuinely enjoyable.
A Retreat Designed Around You
Guided gardening workshops form the heart of the retreat — participants work with knowledgeable, patient instructors to understand plants, soil, and seasonal growing. Organic vegetable harvesting puts that knowledge into practice in the most satisfying way possible.
Pottery sessions offer a creative and meditative counterpoint, while village life interactions provide a window into rural rhythms that many participants find genuinely moving.
Meals are home-style, nutritious, and prepared with care — the kind of food that feels familiar and nourishing.
Comfortable, Safe, and Welcoming
Everything about this retreat is designed with senior comfort in mind — accessible pathways, unhurried schedules, and staff who are attentive and warm. This is a space where elders are genuinely honoured, not just accommodated.
Two Weekends, Limited Spots
Both the May 2–3 and May 23–24 retreats are open for bookings now. These are small, intimate groups — reach out to reserve a spot for yourself or for a group.
The retreat is intentionally slow-paced and gentle. Gardening, pottery, and village walks are all low-impact activities, and our team is experienced in supporting participants with varying levels of mobility. If you or someone in your group has specific physical requirements, please let us know at the time of booking and we’ll ensure everything is comfortable and accessible.
Yes, absolutely. Companions are welcome to join and can participate in all retreat activities alongside the senior guest. Just mention this at the time of booking so we can account for the additional person in our planning. We want every participant — and those who care for them — to feel at ease throughout the stay.
